Pretty much all the Telltale games will do the trick for you. It helps if you enjoy the worlds the games are based off of, but it isn't necessary to enjoy the story they present. The Walking Dead, Tales From the Borderlands, The Wolf Among Us, and Game of Thrones are all solid games. But Life is Strange is my favorite of all of these.
